Highway Logistics Intern at Pacer International

Position Summary: receives orders, sets up loads, inputs shipment data to allow for proper tracking, dispatches equipment, traces shipments and negotiates rates on a per load basis.

Essential Functions:

Retain past customer business through calling and e-mails

Provide customers with quotes on shipment & freight

Conduct cold sale calls within a certain region and industry

Dispatch loads which includes track and trace of load

Research businesses to uncover potential opportunities

Education, Experience and Skill Requirments:

Good organizational and analytical skills; ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Strong communication skils; works well under pressure; team player.

Broad knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred.

Ability to use standard office equipment such as computer terminal, calculator, fax machine and copier.
