Actors' Theatre of Columbus is currently accepting applications for
Summer 2013 Marketing/Communications internships.

DESCRIPTION OF JOB DUTIES:

Actors' Theatre of Columbus' Marketing/Communications internship
offers a rich and challenging experience for qualified college
students, graduates and young professionals who are actively pursuing
careers in the arts.

Interns are given a high level of responsibility and work closely with
the marketing team on the Board of Directors to develop new audiences,
maintain and develop a volunteer program, update the social media
sites, and create promotional relationships with area restaurants and
media outlets. Interns also assist with audience research, special
events, direct mail, and e-mail campaigns. The ideal candidate will
have excellent organizational and computer skills, thrive in a
fast-paced, independent environment and have the desire to work with
an enthusiastic and creative team.

Interns will also gain copywriting and editing experience while
assisting in the preparation of collateral materials. Candidates
should have an interest in marketing communications and/or public
relations and possess excellent writing, interpersonal and
administrative skills.


DAY TO DAY TASKS:

Attending all marketing committee meetings and reporting on current projects
Compose and distribute weekly e-blast and or subscriber newsletter
Event planning and execution assistance
Website updates
Social media communications
Organize, distribute and archive daily media clips

POSITION IS SUPERVISED BY:

Executive Director of Actors' Theatre of Columbus

WHO SHOULD APPLY FOR THIS POSITION?:

Applicants interested in learning about the day-to-day functions of a
community non-profit arts program should apply. This position is
well-suited for candidates with a vested interest in the world of
marketing in the non-profit, arts sector.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

Self-starter, multi-task oriented, and computer literate

Minimum two years undergraduate education or equivalent experience in
arts administration, direct marketing, communications, public
relations and/or journalism

Experience in sales, promotions, or media desirable

Website maintenance and/or e-marketing skills a plus

Must have own laptop
