CAD Draftsman at BuildMore WorkshopExpires April 11, 2013
The BuildMore Workshop, located near the 33/I-270 exchange in Dublin, has a need for an unpaid intern to fill the position at our industrial tool workshop of CAD Draftsman.
This intern would be given the opportunity to create drawings, working on our equipment with our software, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Surfcam, and have those drawings reviewed/critiqued by the Owner, and eventually see their drawings become products made here in the shop. This is an excellent opportunity for a student to build a portfolio for a variety of products, from household items, to hobbyist tools, mechanical parts, and in materials ranging from wood, plastics, metal and stone.
Our workshop includes the latest in design and fabrication equipment, allowing the student to see their work rendered by our workshop using CNC machinery, milling and turning machinery, and 3D printers The BuildMore Workshop follows the cutting-edge merchandising of such facilities in that it is used as a Makerspace wherein people can purchase monthly or annual memberships, take classes, have custom work performed, or consult towards entrepreneurial outcomes.
This position would have 10-12 hours a week of work for a student intern, and could be met any of the hours that the workshop is open: Tuesday through Saturday, 12 noon until 7 p.m. This is a dedicated position; secretarial or maintenance tasks are not included in the responsibilities.
The best candidate for this position would be someone who can focus on a task from start until completion, working independently with reviews at the end of the drawing performance and with minimum help. The person who would fit this position well would be someone to sit at a computer to render items presented to be drawn. The environment is clean, comfortable, professional and all equipment is provided.
This is a Part-time internship offered for a term of 4 to 6 Months
