New Media Journalism Intern at Image INQ Media

Are you looking for an internship that’s hot, wild & in style?  Then look no further than IMAGE INQ.  IMAGE INQ is the company responsible for bringing you the FlyPaper and the FlyPaper Blog.  Not familiar with the FlyPaper?  The FlyPaper is an on-line, hip hop and urban lifestyle magazine, which features articles and stories of political, social and cultural issues of interest to the Central Ohio community.  Distributed twice weekly via e-mail, the FlyPaper seeks to fill the mainsteam media void experienced by its expansive, nation-wide readership.  Through its media outlets, IMAGE INQ seeks to bridge the gap between traditional media and new-age media.  IMAGE INQ is also a full-service provider of marketing, multimedia, promotions, design, print and consulting services.   IMAGE INQ is currently seeking candidates interested in a part-time, unpaid New Media Journalism Internship opportunity.  When we say “new media” we are talking non-traditional, mostly electronic communication outlets (e.g. the web, blogs, etc.).  This is an immediate opening, and we are seeking candidates that can work a minimum of 15-20 hours each week.  There is flexibility in the schedule.  The New Media Journalism Intern will be responsible for researching and writing content for both the FlyPaper and the FlyPaper blog.   Interested candidates must demonstrate the ability to actively pursue and obtain story opportunities, and develop those stories -- that represent the quality and style our readers demand.  In addition, interested candidates must possess the ability to establish and maintain contacts for the purpose of story identification and development.  Additional qualifications include the following: 

• Currently Enrolled in a 2- or 4-year College / University
• Proficiency with MS Office Applications
• Demonstrated Interpersonal Skills
• Effective Verbal and Written Communication Skills
• Previous Writing Experience

This is a Part-time internship offered for a term of 3 to 4 Months
