These professionals see to it that each school receives personalized service and attention. They help each of their customers with the planning, layout, photography and marketing of their yearbooks. They also bring ideas, advice and a personal commitment to customers by providing ways to save time, cut costs and realize a vision for the yearbook.
The local Balfour Yearbook Representative(s) also builds relationships in the area with non-customers in an effort to increase revenue and customer base. This is done through a visibility campaign that involves emails, phone calls and visit to schools. The goal is to coordinate meetings with non-customers to discuss their needs and create an assessment based on those needs. This assessment portrays how working with Balfour and the local Yearbook Representative(s) will provide an affordable, quality yearbook through personalized attention and service that exceeds expectations.
What internship position is available at Balfour?
- Balfour is offering an internship opportunity to assist the area Yearbook Representative(s) with the following:
- Call/email assigned non-customers in the designated territory on a consistent basis in order to deepen the market penetration for Balfour
- Maintain in-depth information on non-customer schools by continually updating information, adding to mailing lists, etc.
- Respond or forward to area Yearbook Representative(s) non-customer inquiries within 24 hours
- Help create and drive successful visibility/marketing campaigns which results in making Balfour and the area Yearbook Representative(s) recognized names in the territory
- Design postcards, emails, brochures, flyers and other various collateral to distribute to non-customers
- Complete other various tasks when requested by area Yearbook Representative(s)

What is expected as an intern at Balfour?
The length of the internship is 1 position per quarter/semester, unless you are able to do an internship for multiple quarters/semesters or would like to continue on a volunteer basis. The position requires between 15-20 hours of work per week. Scheduling is flexible and created by you, but the most efficient work can be done in the morning and afternoon. There may be times when it will be necessary to meet with the area Yearbook Representative(s), your supervisor(s). When this happens, the meeting will be determined based on everyone’s schedule. You are responsible for communicating with the area Yearbook Representative(s) on a regular basis via email, face to face and telephone conversations.
