Special Events Internship at American Diabetes Association

The American Diabetes Association is proud to announce the availability of an exciting special event internship in our Columbus office. The office is located at 471 East Broad Street, Suite 1630 Columbus, OH 43215.

The ADA seeks a highly motivated, self-starting student who is passionate about public service and the non-profit sector. Intern will provide support to ADA staff and gain valuable skills and insights while assisting with various aspects of our fundraising events. ADA internships are unpaid, but the hours are part-time and the schedule can be flexible. If your degree program requires an internship, this can be used as course credit, where applicable.

Executive Director seeks an intern who will gain experience in overall non-profit fundraising, event logistics and administration. Duties include local business research, drafting and implementing mailings, securing in-kind donations, creating and developing relationships, and writing and drafting event documents. With this internship, students will have the opportunity to work with professional staff at all levels. In addition, opportunities to network with other organizations and corporations including corporate sponsors, media outlets, communication firms and local coalitions will be offered.


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
* Currently enrolled college students or graduate students preferred
* Commitment to a flexible work schedule of 15-20 hours per week
* Commitment to volunteer at all three ADA fundraising events
* Experience with Microsoft Office applications
* Experience in database management and/or the manipulation of spreadsheets
* Experience gathering information through internet research
* Excellent writing skills
* Excellent interpersonal communication skills
* Ability to prioritize and handle a variety of assignments simultaneously
* No experience necessary, but attention to detail and accountability is required
* Transportation to and from local office
* Ability to lift 25 lbs.

This is a Part-time internship offered for a term of 3 to 4 Months
