Special Events Intern at Ohio Historical Society

The Ohio Historical Society has an immediate opening in our event department just for you. As the Special Event Intern, you will be assisting our events department coordinate, planning, and sales of our facilities use events at the Ohio History Center and Ohio Village including weddings and corporate events. Position requires weekends, evening holiday work. Essential Duties Include ·Assist and schedule facilities use of events ·Completing setup sheets, assigning staff and working with outside service personnel, including caterers, designers, and florists ·Assisting with the supervision of facilities use events ·Ensuring guest satisfaction and enforcement of OHS policies and procedures ·Assist in the development of packages and projects used to market facilities, products and food and beverage to potential clients Education: Preferred Junior-level college student, but not required. At least one year of hospitality sales and coordination is preferred but not required.Language Skills: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Technical Skills: Basic typing or computer skills preferred. Reasoning Ability: Ability to work with, advice, persuade and motivate a variety of people. This position is a part-time and unpaid 15-20 hours per week. One semester or a two quarter minimum is requested. This position is rolling. The Ohio Historical Society is located at I-71 and 17th Ave, at Exit 111 by the Columbus Expo and Fairgrounds approximately 4 miles north of downtown Columbus.
