Are you looking for an exciting and unique internship opportunity where you can gain hands-on experience in the field of banking?  Are you focused on providing results oriented solutions with a passion for delivering exceptional service?  Then Discover the Difference at CFBank.  CFBank, has its roots in the clay-rich soil of Wellsville, Ohio, where it was founded in 1892 as Central Federal Savings & Loan.  Today, CFBank operates 4 offices throughout Eastern and Central Ohio.  To learn more about our rich history, check us out online at www.cfbankonline.com. The Community Banking Intern opportunity is currently available at our Worthington, OH office.  This paid internship assignment will offer an excellent blend of day-to-day task-based responsibilities and related project assignments.  Additionally, the internship will offer structured mentoring and coaching with the opportunity to create a personal and professional development plan that meets the unique and diverse needs of the Intern.  Day-to-day responsibilities will include fulfilling the role of Client Service Representative (CSR).  This role serves as the key customer contact position at our $280 million community bank with rapid growth plans for its loan and deposit portfolio.   Responsibilities include:·         Serve as initial point of contact for all clients and prospects that call or visit the bank.

  • Serve as primary teller for the office.  Verify and balance assigned cash drawer daily with minimal cash variances.  Reconcile accounts, resolve errors in accordance with Bank policy.
  • Perform administrative assistant duties for all office employees.
  • Carry out all activities related to the opening or closing of various types of time and demand deposit accounts and IRAs, ensuring that applicable regulations, disclosures, policies, and procedures are observed.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.  Receive and interact with customers with enthusiasm, warmth, and professionalism.
  • Respect and maintain all customer and bank information in the highest confidence.
  • Gain exposure to new and exciting product offering – CDARS; this new product offers our customers protection on their deposits, up to $50 million.
 In addition to serving the needs of our Retail customers, the Intern will gain exposure to our Commercial banking products, services and customer base.  The Intern will be provided the opportunity to:·         Support the Senior Commercial Banker in contacting commercial clients for updated financial information; learn to create written analyses of the information·         Assist in reviewing commercial loan documents·         Prepare outbound packages·         Provide additional support as needed by our Commercial banking team. Finally, the Intern will be asked to support a number of dynamic and value-added projects.  They include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Working directly with our Regional President to research and create a plan to penetrate a market niche in Columbus (non-profit organizations).
  • Working directly with our Regional President to research and create a plan to reach young adults through new media.
  

The skills and experience we seek include:

·         Minimum of two years experience in customer service.·         Previous cash handling experience.·         Familiarity with Worthington, Ohio a plus.·         Bachelor’s Degree preferred; high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.·         Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several variables.·         Good time management skills.·         Excellent written and verbal communications skills.·         Ability to work with a team.·         Ability to perform a variety of tasks, as well as flexibility and willingness to deal with ambiguity.·         Desire to work for a small, entrepreneurial company. This internship offers you the chance to learn the basics of banking.  This is an immediate opportunity and we are seeking candidates that can work full-time through end of Summer and/or the start of the new school year.  At that point, we will evaluate your fit with CFBank with the possibility that you may be offered a part-time role during the school year to assist as needed. Sound like the opportunity for you?  Interested in learning more?  Then contact Samantha Davis [SamanthaDavis@cfbankmail.com] for more information.
