Franklin County Department of Animal Care and Control
The Franklin County Department of Animal Care and Control is comprised of two Divisions. The Shelter Division is known as the Franklin County Dog Shelter. This is one of the largest shelters in the mid-west and takes in approximately 13,000 animals each year. We are commited to reuniting lost pets with their owners and when that is not possible, finding new homes for animals that are temperamentally and medically sound.rnThe Enforcement Division consists of Deputy Dog Wardens who are responsible for enforcing Ohio Revised Code 955 pertaining to dogs. We advocate responsible pet ownership which includes spaying and neutering your pets, licensing and vaccinating your pets, properly controling your pets, and the humane treatment of all animals.
