    The Columbus Chamber of Commerce is committed to protecting your privacy when you visit the Website or access or use its services ("Services"), as further outlined in this policy. As a condition of using the Services, you agree to provide certain personal information. This information includes, but is not limited to: full name, postal address, phone number and email address (as well as your computer's unique IP address), financial/credit card information, and demographic information. Please review this privacy policy periodically as we may update it from time to time. Each time you visit the Website, access or use the Services, or provide us with information, you are accepting the practices described in this privacy policy at that time. You agree that by using the Website you are expressly and affirmatively consenting to our use and disclosure of the information that you provide, and consenting to receive emails, as described below in this privacy policy.

    Information We Collect

    1. Navigational Information

    We may gather navigational information during each user’s visit to the Website. In the process of gathering navigational information, non-personally identifiable information (e.g., domain type, browser version, service provider and IP address) may be collected.     The information collected on our Website will not be sold, licensed, or rented to third parties, except as agreed by you or otherwise permitted. Any information you provide on this Website may be used for the following purposes: to enable us to provide services and features offered on the Website; to process event registration; to respond to your inquiries or requests; to analyze your activity with us, including interaction with our Website and communications, and the effectiveness of our advertising; to promote this Website and/or the services and features provided by the Website; and to support the mission of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce (including, without limitation, providing aggregate information about the membership directory and other listings).

    Information made available on the membership directory (including any personal and/or other contact information) may be accessed, viewed and downloaded by the public.

    We may also make certain information (such as name, title, and address) available to our Premier, Growth Connect, and Elite Connect members. The Columbus Chamber of Commerce shares member information with our select partners.     In addition, we may use third parties to provide specific services and to assist us with this Website. Some examples of the services and assistance that may be provided by third party service providers are: maintaining and hosting the Website; monitoring and analyzing site activity, your actions in response to our emails and the effectiveness of our advertising; and administering emails and chat. These third parties may have access to and use of the information collected from you in order to perform services for us.

    If we were ever merged with or acquired by another business entity, or if we acquire another business entity or are involved in a corporate reorganization or other change of control, some or all of the personal information collected about you would be shared with this entity, and may also be retained by us.     The Columbus Chamber of Commerce does not knowingly collect or maintain information provided by children under the age of 13.

    You will have the ability to select and use a password to help prevent the unauthorized access your member account information by others. The security of your personal information depends on your protection of your member account password. Please do not disclose your member account password to unauthorized people. Additionally, we use SSL encryption technology to provide security while information is being transmitted over the Internet. While we implement the above security measures on this Website, you should be aware that 100% security is not always possible.

    Welcome! The following terms and conditions apply to all visitors to or users of the Columbus Internship website, the home page of which is at www.columbusinternships.com (the “Website”), the services provided through the Website or any related applications ("Apps"), and all other features, products and services offered by the Columbus Chamber of Commerce in connection with the Columbus Internship program.

    The Columbus Chamber of Commerce provides Internet based services through which individual internship seekers can learn about and begin to engage with the Columbus region workforce, including seeking internships and enabling employers to find and hire individual internship seekers for internships (“Columbus Internship Services” or “Services”).

    The Columbus Chamber of Commerce does not guarantee that any individual or entity will find employment or an internship through the Columbus Internship Services.  Similarly, the Columbus Chamber of Commerce does not guarantee that any employer will find an individual or entity to employ or hire as an intern.

     BY DOWNLOADING, ACCESSING, OR USING THIS WEBSITE, OR BY INSTALLING ANY OF THE APPS, AND/OR USING ANY OF THE SERVICES, YOU SIGNIFY THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS (“TERMS OF USE”), AS THEY MAY BE MODIFIED BY US AT ANY TIME AND POSTED ON THIS WEBSITE.     License to Use

    1. Users who are Internship Seekers

    The Columbus Chamber of Commerce hereby grants you a limited, terminable, non-exclusive right to access and use the Website only for your personal use in order to seek internship opportunities for yourself. You are authorized to view and download the material on the Website solely for your personal, non-commercial use. You agree that you are solely responsible for the content of any document or other communication (such as a resume) you post to the Website and any consequences arising from such posting. Your use of the Website is a privilege. The Columbus Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to suspend or terminate this privilege for any reason at any time, in its sole discretion.

    2. Users who are Employers

    The Columbus Chamber of Commerce hereby grants you a limited, terminable, non-exclusive right to access and use the Website only for your internal business purposes seeking candidates for an internship with you. This authorizes you to view and download the material on the Website solely for your personal use directly related to the purpose of searching for and recruiting internship prospects. You may not sell, transfer, or assign any products or services or your rights to any products or services provided by the Columbus Chamber of Commerce to any third party without the express written authorization of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce. You agree that you are solely responsible for the content of any document or other communication (such as an internship description) you post to the Website and any consequences arising from such posting. The Columbus Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access and use at any time if the Columbus Chamber of Commerce determines that you are in breach of these Terms of Use.

    Video Content and Services

    Access to, or use of, the Columbus Internship Services video features is completely voluntary. Should a User access or use any video features, the User does so pursuant to these Terms of Use and particularly the terms within this Section.

     

    By publishing your profile and/or creating a video associated with your profile ("Profile Video"), you expressly authorize the Columbus Chamber of Commerce to enable video recording of you; to record your Profile Video; to store the recordings of such Profile Videos; and to use the Profile Videos to provide the Columbus Internship Services, including data mining and the collection and curation of such videos.

     

    Additionally, you expressly authorize other Users of the Columbus Internship Services to access your Profile Videos and to do so on more than one occasion. You expressly authorize the Columbus Chamber of Commerce to enable some Columbus Internship Users, as applicable, to download your Profile Video and other content on their servers. Further, you expressly authorize our Users who are employers to submit your Profile Videos to a third-party who may or may not be a Columbus Internship User.

     

    Employers are expressly prohibited from using any content or information in any videos in violation of any applicable laws, particularly employment laws.

     

    Any User that utilizes the Columbus Internship Services agrees to these Terms of Use and other applicable Columbus Chamber of Commerce policies including, but not limited to, its Privacy and Security Policy. You should be aware that the Columbus Chamber of Commerce has no control over the use of internship seekers’ information by third-parties who do not directly become Users of the Columbus Internship Services. Consequently, the Columbus Chamber of Commerce cannot be responsible for the control of internship seeker information by any third-party who does not directly use the Columbus Internship Services. By using the Columbus Internship Services, you agree to provide information knowing that the Columbus Chamber of Commerce cannot control the use of your information by third-parties.

     

    All Users and participants in the video features (including employers and internship seekers) provided through Columbus Internship Services expressly indemnify the Columbus Chamber of Commerce for its misuse, intended or unintended, of the videos, the content, and/or information conveyed therein by it, its agents, its employees, its customers, and any other parties to whom information is provided. This indemnification shall include, but not be limited to, payment of all legal fees (including, but not limited to attorney's fees, paralegal fees, etc.) and costs incurred by the Columbus Chamber of Commerce relating to any misuse of videos, their content, and/or information conveyed therein. In all cases, the Columbus Chamber of Commerce shall have the right to choose its own counsel.

     

    User Conduct

    Columbus Internship Services shall be used for lawful purposes only.

    If you are an employer, you hereby affirm that your organization is an equal opportunity employer, offering employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, sexual orientation, disability, or citizenship unless legally required.

    You agree to provide the Columbus Chamber of Commerce with true, accurate and current information as requested when registering for Columbus Internship Services. Failure to do so shall constitute a breach of these Terms of Use.

    Employers shall be responsible for complying with all applicable regulations, statutes, laws and guidelines relating to hiring, interviewing, and recruiting employees or interns as well as any matters related thereto.

    Prohibited Use of Website and Services

    You shall not post, transmit, redistribute, upload, or promote any materials that (a) violate or infringe in any way upon the rights of others, including without limitation copyrights and trademarks, or plagiarizes the work of others; (b) contain corrupted files, viruses, or any other similar software files the intent of which is to damage the operation of another’s computer; (c) are unlawful, threatening, harassing, abusive, defamatory, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, vulgar, obscene, sexually explicit, hateful, profane, indecent, racially or ethnically derogatory, or otherwise objectionable; (d) contain chain letters or pyramid schemes; (e) contain any unsolicited advertising, promotional materials, or other forms of solicitation to other users, individuals or entities or attack or criticize other Users, including other employers; (f) impersonate any person, business or entity, including the Columbus Chamber of Commerce and our employees and agents; (g) encourage conduct that would constitute a criminal offense; (h) give rise to civil liability; (i) otherwise violate any law; or (j) undertake any conduct that, in the judgment of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce, restricts, impairs, interferes or inhibits any other user from using or enjoying the Website and/or our related services.

    You represent, warrant and agree that you will not use (or plan, encourage or assist others to use) the Website for any purposes or in any manner that is prohibited by these Terms of Use or by applicable law. It is your responsibility to ensure that your use of the Website complies with these Terms of Use and all applicable laws.


    Your Responsibility for Use of Your Account

    In order to access our services, you are required to create an account (“Account”). You are responsible for all activity on your Account and you must supervise the use of your Account by others. You and your Account may be terminated if your Account is used inappropriately.

    At time of registration and creation of your Account, every User must provide certain information. Every User must specify a username or login identification ("Username") to access the Columbus Internship Services. The Username shall be a valid email address or other acceptable identification. Every User must provide a Display Name that must be your legal name (for an individual, this would be your full name; for an employer, this would be your organization's name). Every User must also establish a password. Please note that you may not use a Username or Display Name that is a Username or Display Name of another person; that is violating a third party's intellectual property rights; or, that is offensive or inappropriate, and in any case is a violation of these Terms of Use.

    You agree to comply with all applicable laws, rules and regulations regarding your use of the services. You agree to abide by these Terms of Use and any other Columbus Chamber of Commerce guidelines and restrictions and you acknowledge that the Columbus Chamber of Commerce has the right to enforce them in its sole discretion. If you violate applicable law, these Terms of Use or any Columbus Chamber of Commerce guidelines and restrictions, the Columbus Chamber of Commerce may, in its sole discretion, terminate your Account.

    You agree to keep confidential the passwords associated with your Account. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Columbus Chamber of Commerce for losses incurred by the Columbus Chamber of Commerce or another party due to someone else using your Account or password as a result of your failure to use reasonable care to keep your Account information confidential.

    You must promptly inform the Columbus Chamber of Commerce of any actual or apparent breach of security, such as loss, theft, or unauthorized disclosure or use of a Username, Display Name, or password.

    You may cancel your User Account at any time. Before doing so, the Columbus Chamber of Commerce recommends you review these Terms of Use carefully so you understand what will occur upon cancellation.  To effectively cancel your User Account, please contact us at [email protected] for specific instructions.  Upon completing the cancellation procedure, the cancellation of your User Account will take place immediately.

    Upon cancellation, all of your content may be deleted permanently. The Columbus Chamber of Commerce shall not be responsible for the loss of any content due to the cancellation (or termination) of a User Account.

    The Columbus Chamber of Commerce is not responsible should a User Account remain active if the cancellation procedure described above is not followed.

    Should the Columbus Internship Services become terminated, all User Accounts shall be terminated immediately, without any prior notifications by the Columbus Chamber of Commerce.

    Notwithstanding anything to the contrary above, User understands and agrees that once content, information or documents are placed into the stream of the Internet, there is no promise or guarantee that such content, information or documents can be or will be permanently erased or deleted therefrom.


    Intellectual Property Rights

    1. Copyright Infringement

    The Columbus Chamber of Commerce does not permit copyright infringing activities and infringement of intellectual property rights on this Website, and will remove all documents and other forms of communications posted by Users (“User Submission”) if properly notified that such User Submission infringes on another's intellectual property rights. The Columbus Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to remove User Submissions without prior notice. The Columbus Chamber of Commerce may also terminate a User's access to this Website if they are determined to be a repeat infringer. A repeat infringer is a User who has been notified of infringing activity more than twice and/or has had a User Submission removed from the Website more than twice. The Columbus Chamber of Commerce also reserves the right to decide whether a User Submission is appropriate and complies with these Terms of Use for violations other than copyright infringement and violations of intellectual property law, including, but not limited to, pornography, obscene or defamatory material or excessive length. The Columbus Chamber of Commerce may remove such User Submissions and/or terminate your access to the Website for uploading such material in violation of these Terms of Use at any time, without prior notice and at its sole discretion.

    You understand that when using the Website, you will be exposed to User Submissions from a variety of sources, and that the Columbus Chamber of Commerce is not responsible for and disclaims all liability relating to the accuracy, usefulness, appropriateness, safety, or intellectual property rights of or relating to such User Submissions.     The Columbus Chamber of Commerce is not an employment agency or recruiting firm, and makes no representations or guarantees regarding the effectiveness or timeliness of the Website in meeting the employment objectives of Users. The Columbus Chamber of Commerce does not guarantee that use of the Website will result in candidates being hired or positions being filled, and is not responsible for any internship decisions, for whatever reason made, made by any User. The Columbus Chamber of Commerce is not a party to any relationships entered into between an employer and an intern or an internship candidate, and the Columbus Chamber of Commerce is not liable for any act or omission by an employer or candidate. The Columbus Chamber of Commerce has no control over the quality, safety or legality of the jobs posted, the truth or accuracy of the listings, the ability of employers to offer internship opportunities to candidates or the ability of candidates to fill job openings.     Limitation of Liability

    Jurisdiction and Venue

    These Terms of Use shall be governed by the laws of the state of Ohio, without giving effect to its conflict of laws provisions.     You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Columbus Chamber of Commerce, its officers, directors, employees and agents, from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from: (a) your use of and access to the Website; (b) your violation of these Terms of Use; (c) your violation of any third party right, including without limitation any copyright, property, or privacy right; or (d) any claim that one of your User Submissions caused damage to a third party.
